The Hayward (Gallery)Home > Attractions > The Hayward (Gallery)
The Hayward is an art gallery within the Southbank Centre, part of an area of major arts venues on the South Bank of the River Thames. It is sited adjacent to the other Southbank Centre buildings (the Royal Festival Hall and the Queen Elizabeth Hall/Purcell Room) and also the Royal National Theatre and British Film Institute. In addition to putting on major exhibitions and commissioning new artworks in the gallery, the Hayward also organises projects, installations and talks inside and outside other venues across Southbank Centre. It is the only gallery in the world created in the Brutalist style of architecture – a striking concrete form that visitors either love or hate. The Hayward hosts three/four major temporary exhibitions each year and does not house any permanent collections.
Opening Hours: Open daily during exhibitions 10:00 - 18:00, late nights Friday until 22:00. The main galleries are closed when there are no exhibitions.Check website for details.
