The Victoria and Albert Museum (often abbreviated as the V&A) is the world's largest museum of decorative arts and design, housing a permanent collection of over 4.5 million objects. Named after Prince Albert and Queen Victoria, it was founded in 1852, and has since grown to 145 galleries. Its collection spans 5000 years of art, from ancient times to the present day, in virtually every medium, from the cultures of Europe, North America, Asia and North Africa. Explore the V&A's programme of changing exhibitions and displays. Complementing the Museum's permanent collection, they cover a broad range of subjects from design and fashion to photography and architecture. Major exhibitions feature multiple rooms of objects and installations while smaller displays are sometimes located in just a single case. (Charges may apply) The V&A Café offers hot dishes, salads, sandwiches, pastries and cakes, as well as hot and cold drinks, wine and beer. All food is prepared and cooked on the premises using fresh food, bought daily.
Opening Hours: Opening times 10.00-17.00 daily, Friday 10.00-22.00
