Portobello Market in West London is one of the most famous street markets in the world. On Saturdays it is home to Portobello Road Market, one of London's notable street markets, known for its second-hand clothes and antiques.

Market days start gradually from around 5.30am with trading between dealers from the UK and overseas. Most stall holders have arrived by 8.00am and the market is in full swing for the rest of the day, with collectors and visitors from all over the world.

The shops and stalls of Portobello Road offer an extraordinary variety of goods ranging in price from a few pounds to several thousands. Visitors come from all over the world because they know that in Portobello Road they will find the most extensive selection of antiques in Britain.

Getting there:

Portobello Road is 2 miles west of Marble Arch and easy to reach by road or underground from anywhere in London.

There's a choice of two underground stations: Ladbroke Grove (Hammersmith & City Lines) or Notting Hill Gate, which is on the Central, Circle and District lines.

The following buses stop in or near the market: 7,12, 23,27, 28, 31, 70, 94, 328.
