Windsor Racecourse, also known as Royal Windsor Racecourse is a thoroughbred horse racing venue located in Windsor, Berkshire. It is one of only two figure-of-eight courses in the United Kingdom, the other being at Fontwell Park.
Flat racing takes place at Windsor 26 times a year from April to October. In the summer, regular Monday evening fixtures and theme nights attract large and enthusiastic crowds, and you can even travel to the racecourse by riverboat!
Fantastic theme nights for 2010 include: South Africa Night, Ronnie Scotts All Stars, Ladies Night, Irish Night, Caribbean Night and there are also 3 great Family Fun Days, including the Football Furlong Family Fun Day.
We have three fantastic enclosures to watch the racing from - The Club Enclosure, The Grandstand Enclosure and The Silver Ring Enclosure. All these areas have Tote betting facilities, bookmakers, bars, catering facilities and allow access to the Centre of the Course where you can be right at the heart of the action.
Getting there
The nearest stations to the racecourse are Windsor and Eton Central, Windsor and Eton Riverside and Slough. Trains run from Paddington and Waterloo to these stations. Taxis are available from all stations.
Food & Drink
Royal Windsor Racecourse has three lovely restaurants with mouth-watering menus for all tastes which open exclusively on racedays. The Castle Restaurant overlooks the racetrack giving superb views of the racing in elegant and comfortable surroundings; The Club Restaurant is within the original Victorian Grandstand and is only a short walk from the finishing post and the Blues & Royals Restaurant is located in the heart of the Club Enclosure serving a stunning range of fresh seafood and champagne. The Castle Restaurant is open all season; The Club and Blues & Royals Restaurants are open May to August only.
